Beaufort Advances Aluminium System Design
August 2006

The all-new Advanced Polyamide System from Beaufort Secure Design marks a major step forward in aluminium window design. The internally glazed range of windows has been specifically developed by Beaufort to combine superb thermal and weather performance with a pioneering design for faster fabrication and enhanced aesthetic appeal. Indeed, the Advanced is the first internally glazed aluminium system to feature built-in trickle ventilators as standard, together with a double bead option that eliminates the need for dummy vents.

All window sections in Beaufort's Advanced System incorporate a polyamide thermal barrier, together with a multi-chamber construction to satisfy increasingly stringent regulations on energy efficiency including full compliance with Building Regulations Part L.

In addition to excellent energy efficiency, the Beaufort Advanced System window includes a built-in trickle ventilator that requires no routing and thus saves on labour. These trickle vents can be fully colour matched to complement the appearance of the finished window. Also, the double bead frame design eliminates the need for dummy vents and therefore slashes material and labour costs.

Beaufort's Advanced System has been weather tested in accordance with BS 6375 and either met or exceeded the necessary standard in the various categories. In fact, in terms of wind resistance a result of 2000 Pascals was achieved, which is more than double the requirement. All window styles in the range has also passed BS 7950 security performance tests with flying colours, this has been achieved through the use of euro groove mounted shoot bolts and a secure bead location improving security and reducing fabrication time.

Among the other key features and benefits of Beaufort's new Advanced System is an integral dedicated drainage path, so any moisture drains away without compromising window performance. Also, the addition of a third weather seal further enhances the window's overall weather resistance. Additionally, the location of crimps on both sides of the thermal barrier ensures exceptionally strong corner joints.

The Advanced System is available in the complete range of window designs offered by Beaufort. Casement, Tilt before Turn and Top Swing Reversible styles can all be accommodated and each design shares the same sections to reduce stock levels.

Two years in development, the Advanced System has been thoroughly tried and tested prior to its official launch. In addition to laboratory testing, two members of Beaufort's Approved Fabricator Scheme have put the System through its paces in trial installations. Beaufort has also involved customers throughout the new Systems' development and introduction into the range with a series of seminars and ongoing training sessions.

Commenting on the launch of the Advanced System, Nigel Yates, Managing Director of Beaufort Secure Design says: "This exciting new development provides the perfect complement to our existing Classic range of aluminium profiles. We believe it has broad market appeal and will give fabricators the opportunity to offer a choice of systems to suit different specification demands. The response so far from our customers has been extremely positive, and in fact we're already looking to extend the Advanced System to include a range of doors later this year. "
