Beaufort Delivers a Good Value Solution |
|
Aluminium windows from Beaufort’s Advanced System are combining a traditional look with modern energy efficiency and easy maintenance at Bickenhall Mansions, a Listed residential building in London’s west end. The new windows have replaced timber fenestration in 33 luxury apartments. The slim sightlines and attractive styling of the Advanced system satisfied Westminster Council’s local planning requirements for Bickenhall Mansions, which date back to around 1850, and also exceeded the project’s specification in terms of thermal and weather performance. Fully reversible windows from Beaufort ‘s 70mm Deep Direct Fix Advanced system were specified for Bickenhall Mansions. This window style is particularly popular for multi-storey buildings as it offers the benefits of convenient cleaning from the inside plus good ventilation. The replacement windows also feature attractive Georgian Bar detailing fitted in the top fanlights to complement the building’s period red brick facade. The new aluminium windows for Bickenhall Mansions have been supplied in a white polyester powder paint finish to harmonise with surrounding properties. The highly durable finish is resistant to the pollution and dirt that can discolour other window materials, making it ideal for the Victorian building, which is located on a busy London thoroughfare. The new aluminium entrance doors for Bickenhall Mansions have been supplied from Beaufort’s complementary Classic system in the same smart white finish. The Advanced system is an internally glazed range of windows specifically developed by Beaufort to combine superb thermal and weather performance with a pioneering design for faster fabrication and enhanced aesthetic appeal. Indeed, the Advanced is the first internally glazed aluminium system to feature built-in trickle ventilators as standard. It also has a double bead option, which eliminates the need for dummy vents on fixed lights, so reducing costs and enhancing sightlines. All aluminium sections are extruded to BS EN 755 and the multi-chamber profile incorporates a polyamide thermal barrier to increase thermal efficiency in compliance with the latest Building Regulations on ‘U’ values. |
